Three Athletes In Contention for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.
These three athletes have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.
The show will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
