Major Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults overnight. A young boy died and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks follow nights of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
