Christian Horner Allegedly Getting in Touch with Various F1 Team Owners
Ex-Red Bull chief Christian Horner is allegedly "ringing up pretty much every team owner" as he seeks a re-entry to grand prix racing, per Aston Martin F1 CEO Andy Cowell.
The Silverstone-based squad is among the squads that are connected to Horner.
The team executive mentioned he had checked the situation with squad proprietor Lawrence Stroll on Friday at the Marina Bay race.
"It seems like Christian is ringing up pretty much every team owner at the moment," commented Cowell.
"I can unequivocally confirm there are no plans for the engagement of Christian in an management or financial position in the future."
Other Teams Respond
The US-based squad team principal Ayao Komatsu disclosed that Horner had "approached" the American squad but continued: "Nothing has gone any further. It's over."
The Renault-owned team executive director Steve Nielsen revealed the team's executive adviser and unofficial chief Flavio Briatore was "old friends" with Horner.
The team official commented: "I don't know what they talk about. All I can confirm is there are no plans for Christian to arrive at Alpine but that isn't to say it won't happen."
The historic British team boss James Vowles declared that Horner had not contacted them.
"We're content with the structure we have and it's effective," Vowles said. "I don't see any reason to alter this."
Background Context
The ex-Red Bull chief is able to come back Formula 1 by the second half of the coming year after completing a separation agreement with Red Bull on the 22nd of September.
The 51-year-old was let go as the team's leader after the Silverstone race in summer.
Several informants at the racing team have revealed the settlement package was estimated at €60 million (52 million pounds).
