Attorney General Discloses Probe into President's Rivals and Epstein Ties

On Friday, the Attorney General appointed Jay Clayton to oversee an investigation into opponents of the President and their connections with Jeffrey Epstein. This decision came just after Trump instructed her to launch the investigation.

During an announcement, the Attorney General highlighted Clayton as “a highly skilled and reliable legal expert”. The official remarked, “This case will be addressed with speed and honesty to ensure public transparency.”

This development seems to diverge from a July memo from justice department officials which indicated that documents related to Epstein did not warrant further inquiries. As per the document, investigators “found no proof justifying probes into uncharged individuals”

Trump Demands Focus on Democrats in Epstein Matter

The announcement comes as increasing pressure from Trump on lawmakers to resist the public disclosure of Epstein-related documents ahead of an upcoming House vote next week. Many Republicans are anticipated to support the release.

Recently released emails from Jeffrey Epstein have brought attention to Trump’s past involvement with the convicted criminal, including information that his knowledge of Epstein’s behavior exceeded prior admissions.

On Friday, the President declared he would direct the Department of Justice to examine Epstein’s ties with Democrats, including Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Interestingly, Trump also described the “Epstein hoax” as a “scam”.
