Aircraft Spirals Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented California Beach
A helicopter hovering near a crowded California beach suddenly started spinning wildly, ultimately dropping height and plunging into a cluster of palm groves as beachgoers observed.
Footage posted on social media capture the chopper starting to spin over the beach then falling towards the perimeter of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palm trees and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
Emergency responders reported five people were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” following the incident on that day.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their injuries were still under review.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.

The department said the aircraft was associated with an annual “Cars with Copters” charity gathering planned for the following day.
